Win joined the Social Insights team in March 2022.

 

Dr. Win Guan is a Senior Research and Evaluation Manager at Social Insights, responsible for managing large-scale research projects, data analyses, and data visualizations. Born and raised in New Orleans, Win centers the power of relationships and community as driving factors in meaningful change in self and societal structures. As a Chinese American man from an immigrant family living in the Gulf South, he is deeply passionate about grassroots, community-interdependent movement and organizing work. He is committed to learning and unlearning how privilege can impact his work and perspective.

As a health equity sociologist, Win has experience with research and evaluation across multiple sectors including non-profit, academia, government, and private industry. He specializes in creatively communicating and visualizing findings to center community access and benefit. He is skilled at weaving stories together and honoring people’s lived experiences through qualitative inquiry as well as quantitative visualization, modeling, and programming.

Win values the unique intersection of learning, intentionality, and perspective-driven work at Social Insights and leading evaluations in partnership with organizations committed to advancing social justice, such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Southern Center for Human Rights, and the Borealis Foundation. He is a fluent speaker of Cantonese and English. He feeds his spirit and his love for the energy produced from communal, mutual relationships through reading non-fiction, watching romantic comedies, playing ultimate frisbee, learning new hobbies, and cooking for others.
