Simran Sachdev (she/her) is a Project Lead at Social Insights. As a researcher, writer, and activist, she is dedicated to upholding human rights for all communities. Her immigrant experience and years of global work in marginalized communities shape her emphasis on participatory research. She has professional experience across the public and private sectors, including over a decade of nonprofit work in South Asia, the Middle East, and the US, with a focus on research, advocacy, writing, evaluation, and bringing together people with diverse perspectives. Her identity as an Indian American woman fuels her commitment to supporting women to advocate for themselves and create the change they want in their lives and communities.

Simran specializes in designing, implementing, and managing participatory research and evaluation projects with an equity focus. She is skilled at designing research methodologies and tools, conducting qualitative research, creating learning and evaluation plans, and creating theories of change. Her work at Social Insights includes reimagining equitable funding practices for Episcopal City Mission, co-creating a theory of change for an innovative health equity project with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and co-writing an impact study for metoo International. She is fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi. She enjoys trying dance styles from different countries and experiencing good food, books, coffee, and conversation.
