“We are in an imagination battle… and I must engage my own imagination in order to break free.”
―adrienne maree brown

Jordan first joined the Social Insights team in February 2025.

Jordan Mosby is a Ph.D. candidate in sociology at Brown University and a researcher focused on migration, racial equity, and education policy. With expertise in qualitative research, Jordan has partnered with philanthropic and nonprofit organizations to produce actionable insights on leadership, equity, and systemic change.

His dissertation examines how Black migrants relocating to the Washington, D.C., and Atlanta metro areas make sense of place, build social ties, and engage civic and political life amid shifting regional and racial geographies. Drawing on in-depth interviews and qualitative analysis, his research traces how destination choice and place attachment shape migrants' connections to new communities. Jordan earned an M.A. in Sociology from Brown University and a B.A. in Sociology from Morehouse College.

Jordan finds joy in exploring travel, discovering new music, watching the Baltimore Ravens, and engaging in conversations that challenge and expand perspectives.
