“There is no single answer that will solve all of our future problems. No magic bullet. Instead there are thousands of answers—at least. You can be one of them if you choose to be.”
―Octavia Butler
Jasmine first joined the Social Insights team in February 2025.
Jasmine Engleton is an Early Career Research Fellow at Social Insights and a Cultural Research Fellow at Southern Methodist University’s DataArts (National Center for Arts Research). Passionate about supporting Black communities, whether it be survivors of violence or Black trustees and art museum staff, Jasmine focuses on uplifting strategies that expand access to power, drive systemic change, and promote healing and wellness.
She has extensive experience in mixed-method research, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data, and trauma-informed interviewing. She has contributed to research on housing instability among domestic violence survivors, criminal legal engagement among sexual assault survivors who have experienced institutional betrayal, and, more recently, Black trustees’ access to power and influence within art museums and cultural institutions. As an evaluator, she has partnered with community-based organizations to assess needs related to transformative justice practices and to support the implementation of flexible funding programs in domestic violence agencies.
Through her work, Jasmine is committed to supporting organizations and individuals dedicated to helping Black communities from diverse backgrounds create lasting impact and heal from violence. Her commitment to justice, healing, equitable access to power, and survivor well-being is evident across all aspects of her work.
Outside of research and evaluation, she enjoys roller-skating, listening to music, and reading short stories.
