Christyl joined the Social Insights team in April 2020.

 

Dr. Christyl Ebba is a Research and Evaluation Manager at Social Insights. She is a multifaceted educator, evaluator, and community psychologist. Her experience as the daughter of Liberian immigrants informs a commitment to education, equity, and social justice. Before working in research, she served as a Teach for America corps member and program manager at Cinnamongirl, Inc., a mentoring organization for young girls of color.

As a researcher and evaluator, Christyl enjoys partnering with organizations and programs to help them find meaning and amplify their impact. She specializes in mixed-methods and community-based participatory approaches that center and uplift marginalized voices. She is passionate about creating accessibility through creative data collection, data visualization, and intentional report design. Christyl has led national research on the gendered and racialized impact of COVID-19 for Black Feminist Future, city-wide research on community safety in Philadelphia for the Movement Alliance Project, and statewide power-building efforts in Washington with OneAmerica. Other work at Social Insights includes partnerships with Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective, Black Organizing for Leadership and Dignity, Southern Center for Human Rights, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Magnolia Mother's Trust.

She creates joy in her life through traveling, learning about different cultures, listening to true crime podcasts, and seeing the world through her children's eyes.
